Another PTI leader leaves party over May 9 riots

Ayesha Iqbal, ex-PTI member of the Punjab Assembly (MPA), on Sunday announced her decision to bid adieu to the party.

Addressing a press conference at Lahore Press Club (LPC), she said she strongly condemned what happened on the ill-fated day.

“I am not in favour of politics of violence and bloodshed,” she added.

She said, “I only pray to the Almighty Allah for the well-being and prosperity of Pakistan.”

Over 100 PTI workers and leaders have left the party over May 9 riot and strongly condemned the violent style of Imran Khan politics.

Leaders like Shireen Mazari, Fawad Chaudhry, Ali Zaidi, Imran Ismael, Parvaiz Khattak have either left politics or they have resigned from party positions or they quit PTI.

All of them have reiterated their commitment with the Pakistan Army.
