LAHORE: Prime Minister Imran Khan has filed a reply in the court on a petition against the appointment of 16 assistants, saying he could have five special assistants under Article 93 of the Constitution.

According to details, Nadeem Sarwar Advocate’s petition against the appointment of 16 special assistants to Prime Minister Imran Khan was heard in the Lahore High Court.

During the hearing, Prime Minister Imran Khan, Federal Government, Law Ministry, Shehzad Arbab, Mirza Shehzad Akbar and Shehzad Qasim submitted their replies.

Prime Minister Imran Khan has said in his reply that he can have 5 special assistants under Article 93 of the Constitution. Under Article 6 Sub-Article 4 of the Rules of Business, I have the power to appoint special advisers.

In reply, Imran Khan said that the law also gives the power to fix the salaries and allowances of the assistants, all the appointments of special assistants and special advisers are in accordance with the constitution and law.

Upon completion of the proceedings, the court adjourned the hearing indefinitely.
