An encounter broke out between security forces and mujahadeen in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday. The JK police informed that they have launched a cordon and search operation at Yedipora in Pattan area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir following specific information, a police officer said.
During the encounter, an Army Major has been shot and taken to the hospital in a very serious condition.
Army Major identified as Rohit Mehra who was injured in on going gunfight in north Kashmir’s Yadipora Pattan area of district Baramulla is Stable at 92 base hospital here.
The exchange of firing is going on, the officer said, adding additional forces have been rushed to the area and further details were awaited.
