ISLAMABAD, August 22  (Online Int’l): A Pakistan Military Spokesperson has said that Pakistan army  rescue teams are engaged in relief activities along with the civil administration in the areas affected in the new spell of monsoon rains in Karachi.

The spokesperson said in his statement that the process for draining out water from low lying areas of Karachi is underway and people from rain-affected areas are being shifted to safe places.

The Pakistan army is also on the forefront in providing aid to those injured during rains. The army jawans are extending help to the people in the areas where the belongings of the people have been destroyed in the rainfall.  Special focus has been placed on shifting elderly women to safe places.  Pakistan army personnel are utilising all available resources in this respect.
