Arshad Nadeem Could Not Win a Medal at the Tokyo Olympics
Tokyo: In an unfortunate turn of events, Arshad Nadeem’s best efforts did not bear fruit in the final round of men’s Javelin Throw at the Tokyo Olympics.
According to reports, the final matches of the Javelin Throw at the Tokyo Olympics were held today in which Arshad Nadeem, Pakistan’s last hope of a medal, was defeated.
In the final round, 12 athletes were in the first leg, of which the top 8 made it to the next round. Among them, Arshad Nadeem finished fourth with a score of 84.62.
The top three players in the medal round were awarded gold, silver, and bronze medals respectively but Arshad Nadeem, despite his best efforts, was knocked out of the medal race. The athlete finished fifth in the second round.
India’s Neeraj Chopra won gold, Czech Republic’s Jakub Vadlejch won silver, and Vitezslav Vesely, also from Czech, won bronze medal.
Surprisingly, German Julian Weber, number one in the world, also dropped out of the medal race and finished fourth. Thus, Pakistan’s journey to Tokyo Olympics is over and the 10 athletes that went there could not win any medals.
In the first leg, all 12 athletes threw spears 3, 3 times after which the four athletes, who scored the lowest, were out of the medal race. After this, there was another 3, 3 turn between the top 8 in which Arshad Nadeem finished fifth.
