As Omicron fears rise, NCOC issues fresh directives for flights from UK to Pakistan

Dec 20, 2021: According to a report by BaaghiTV, amid Omicron fears, strict checks have been directed on flights from UK to Pakistan.

CAA has received new instructions regarding flights from UK to Pakistan. Rapid antigen test has been made mandatory at airports. Passengers arriving in Pakistan from UK will be required to have Corona PCR test 48 hours before the flight.

Earlier, the NCOC meeting was held to discuss the vaccine strategy and disease spread. The NCOC agreed to take steps to make vaccination compulsory. Efforts to achieve vaccination targets have been reviewed, the NCOC said, adding that from January 1, people over the age of 30 are eligible for booster doses. Reported in 95 countries, 58,000 confirmed cases of Omicron have been reported.

The originating center of Omicron are UK and Denmark. 149 confirmed cases have been reported in India, 58% of the country’s population has been vaccinated.

It should be noted that the most dangerous variant of Corona from South Africa, ‘Omicron’ has appeared in many western countries including USA, UK, India and Japan. Countries have imposed travel bans to prevent the virus from reaching their country. The World Health Organization (WHO) has warned of a possible further spread of the omicron variant worldwide, saying that the Omicron variant could lead to an increase in corona cases in the future, with serious consequences.

The UK has seen a threefold increase in cases of Omicron, a new strain of the virus that has caused fear in many parts of the world. Medical experts in India are also worried. They say that if the situation is like that of Britain, then the situation in India will be very bad. Medical experts have advised the Modi government to prepare now to deal with Omicron. There have been 151 cases of omicron so far.
