Following the attempted assassination of PTI Chairman Imran Khan, who sustained a bullet wound to his right leg, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, PPP Co-chairman Asif Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, among others, condemned the incident in the “strongest terms.”
“I condemn the shooting of Imran Khan and his associates and pray for their recovery,” Nawaz tweeted.
Prime Minister Shehbaz remarked on his Twitter account: “I condemn the shooting incident involving PTI chairman Imran Khan in the harshest terms. I’ve requested an immediate report from the Interior Minister regarding the incident. I wish for the healing and health of PTI’s chairman and the other injured individuals.”
In terms of security and inquiry, he added, the federal government will provide the Punjabi government with all required assistance.
The prime minister wrote, “Violence has no place in the politics of our nation.”
Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari also used Twitter to denounce the event.
He posted on Twitter, “Praying for his quick recovery.”
Asif Zardari also condemned the attack on Khan and prayed for his quick recovery.
Zardari stated, “A comprehensive investigation should be conducted”
Maryam Nawaz, vice president of the PML-N, stated, “I condemn the shooting of Imran Khan and pray to Allah Almighty for the health of all the injured, especially Imran Khan.”
Khan was shot at approximately 4:25 p.m. on Thursday at the PTI’s welcoming camp at Allahwala Chowk in Gujranwala. As a result, violent events ensued.
The culprit who, according to the police, opened fire on Khan’s container has been apprehended. He sustained bullet wounds to his leg.
Several other individuals, including the leader of the PTI, Faisal Javed, were also injured, while sources at the Gujranwala DHQ Hospital report that one individual has perished. They stated that the status of the other injured individuals was stable and that they had received care.
President Arif Alvi condemns the “murderous assault” against Imran Khan.
The president of Pakistan, Arif Alvi, also condemned the “murderous attack” on Khan, stating that the incident is both alarming and cowardly.

Rana Sana allegedly threatened to kill Khan: Shireen Mazari
Shireen Mazari, the senior vice president of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), criticized Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah for threatening the PTI chairman in response to the event.
“Today, we witnessed Rana Sana’s attempt to execute his threat to assassinate IK. As his public statements constitute evidence of attempted murder, he should be arrested.”
“The string pullers, the Establishment, will also be held accountable by the public for this heinous attack against Imran Khan,” tweeted Mazari.
