Asif Zardari to appear in IHC under accusations of bribery

Asif Ali Zardari, former President of Pakistan, has to appear in the Islamabad High Court (IHC) due to the NAB appeals against the accusation of accepting a bribe of 10 million US Dollars.

The reports have revealed, the IHC fixed NAB appeals against former President Asif Ali Zardari for hearing in the tractor reference. A two-member bench of the Islamabad High Court will hear the appeals on Monday, comprising Chief Justice Atharmanullah and Justice Amir Farooq.

The NAB has challenged Asif Ali Zardari’s acquittal in the references. In the reference, Asif Ali Zardari was accused of accepting a bribe of 10 million USD. The accountability court had acquitted him in both the cases, on which the NAB challenged Asif Zardari’s acquittal.

It may be recalled that two days ago, the accountability court, in reference to a suspicious transaction of PKR 8 billion, rejected the plea to charge Asif Ali Zardari through a video link and fixed October 14.
