Lahore, 4th July: A military cargo plane crashed in the Philippines, with at least 17 dead and 40 others injured.

According to reports, a military plane crashed in the southern Philippines on Sunday. The army chief said at least 15 people have been rescued from the aircraft that was reportedly carrying 92 military personnel.

The air force said in a statement that the C-130 aircraft of the Philippine Air Force had a mishap on landing on the island of Sulu.

“Rescue operations are underway,” it said.

Photographs of the scene published by ABS-CBN News on Twitter showed smoke and flames billowing from the wreckage of the aircraft.

According to initial reports, the plane had 92 people on board, including three pilots and five crew members, Defense Minister Delphine Lorraine Zina told Reuters.

Defence Minister revealed a while ago that at least 17 people have been killed in the plane crash that happened this Sunday in Sulu.
