Attempts to smuggle millions of rupees in the country thwarted, 180 kg of cannabis was recovered

February 22, 2021:  Attempts to smuggle drugs worth millions of rupees in the country were foiled. A search near Shah Rakne Alam Toll Plaza Motorway in Multan area turned up about 180 kg of hashish from a double cabin vehicle.

While in the second operation, during a search on the canal near Garvish Hotel in Faisalabad area, about 3 kg of opium and 500 gms of ice were recovered from a broken Corolla car. Drugs were recovered from a Toyota Corolla car.

In a third operation, drugs were recovered from a Toyota Corolla car during a search near Daajal Bridge in Mianwali.

The drugs were skillfully hidden in the car’s compartments. Among the drugs recovered were 2 kg of heroin. The accused, identified as Raadullah Khan, Yasir Shafi Amanullah and Zaheer Abbas, were arrested while the accused arrested were residents from Dera Bugti (Balochistan), Gujranwala, Mardan (Peshawar) and Islamabad. Further investigation is underway.
