Audio leaks judicial commission announces to public proceedings
The judicial commission set to probe audio leaks on Monday directed the Attorney General for Pakistan to make processing of the Commission public. Justice Qazi Faez Isa said the Commission will also ask the public to provide information through advertisement. Justice Qazi Faiz Isa said identity of the informant must be disclosed to the Commission of Inquiry. Information coming from unknown sources is not acceptable,he remarked. He said Commission of Inquiry has sought all the audio recordings from the government and instructed to provide transcripts of all audios also signed by the responsible officer. The federal government has formed a high-powered judicial commission headed by Justice Qazi Faez Isa of the Supreme Court to probe the audio leaks related to the judiciary. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan and Justice Aamer Farooq are members of the judicial body. The commission has been tasked to complete the job within 30 days. Among the multiple audio leaks, the commission will also probe into the veracity of the alleged call between former Punjab chief minister Chaudhry Parvez Elahi and a sitting SC judge as well as another call between CM Elahi and a SC lawyer over the constitution of an apex court bench.
