February.3, 2021, Peshawar: Former district member of Awami National Party Mian Shamshir Khan resigned from the Party in a crowded press conference.
His practical politics started in 1993 when he became the President of Government College MSF. In 1995, he was elected senior vice president in the MAF provincial elections. During the Tehreek-e-Nijat in 1993, he was imprisoned in Kahi Center Jail, Peshawar.
Mian Shamsheer said, “The ANP platform has worked hard for the betterment of the area and has been doing social work in the area on its own. For some time now, I and my friends and relatives have had many reservations about the collective service of the party. Many times we kept our party leadership informed of the time and in response the ANP leadership gave nothing but disappointment in return for reservations and now we are heartbroken as the area has suffered a lot due to the inattention of the leadership. The area suffers from deprivation because of a lack of leadership.”
He said,”Today, with great regret, I am parting ways with the ANP. As a district member, I have done my best for my constituency. Praise be to God, I have done some development work which was not even done by the MPAs or ministers of the area before me.”
He went on to add, “ANP lacks leadership in the district of Peshawar. If there was leadership in the party, an ideological worker like me would not be forced to leave the party today and inshallah when the time comes I will show the ANP what this ideological worker has done. Mian Shamsheer and his family are regional servants and people who have a heart for their area. Every ward of ANP has been weakened today due to incompetent people.”
He concluded saying, “Whichever party I join, the problems faced by my region will be my priority. Today, I am resigning from all kinds of posts in the ANP and I am announcing my resignation from the party. And after consulting with relatives, I will make an announcement about my future plans.”
