Aug 1, 2021: Pakistani batsman Azam Khan, who was taken to hospital after suffering a head injury during training on Friday, has been discharged from hospital after his health improved.

Azam Khan was out of the second and third T20 against the West Indies. The 22-year-old, who made his debut against England earlier this month, is known to have been hit by a fast bowler. Announcing his return from the hospital on Twitter, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) welcomed him back into the dressing room.

At the time of the incident, the son of Pakistan’s legendary cricketer Moin Khan was wearing a helmet and did not lose consciousness. However, a neurosurgeon said the observation period was 24 hours. It will be reviewed on Monday.

The other three games will be in Guyana, with the first match of the week taking place on Tuesday before the final match on Saturday. After the T20, there will be two Tests from August 12 and 20 and both will be played in Kingston.

It is to be noted that National cricket team middle-order batsman Azam Khan was injured when a ball hit his head. Azam Khan suffered a head injury during a training session in Guyana after which he was ruled out of the second and third T20I against the West Indies.

After Azam Khan’s CT scan, the neurosurgeon decided to keep him in the hospital for another 24 hours. Azam Khan’s injury will be reviewed again on Monday after which his availability for the fourth and final T20 International of the series will be decided.
