Azam Swati Stopped at Peshawar Airport Following PHC Travel Order
PESHAWAR: Senior Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Azam Khan Swati was stopped from boarding an international flight at Peshawar Airport on Thursday, despite a court order permitting his travel. Earlier in the day, a two-member bench of the Peshawar High Court (PHC) had directed authorities to remove Swati’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL), effectively allowing him to travel abroad. However, in what appears to be a violation of that directive, airport officials reportedly prevented the PTI leader from leaving the country. The petition calls for the immediate implementation of the court’s order and demands that Swati be granted full permission to travel without obstruction. Legal proceedings are expected to follow as the court reviews the petition in the coming days.
