Baaghi TV gets a detailed report on Power Blackout
Lahore, 12th January: A report has come out notifying the real reason behind the blackout in Pakistan that happened on Saturday night.
According to the report of Baaghi TV, a report on the recent power blackout has been submitted to the Power Division.
According to the report submitted by National Power Control Center, 500 KV Guddu Shikarpur Circuits 1 and 2 were tripped at 11.41 pm on January 9, along with 500 KV Guddu Muzaffargarh and Guddu DG Khan transmission lines. These trips caused the entire power system to shut down.
According to the report, before the blackout, the frequency of the system was 49.85 and the system was generating a total of 10,311 MW of electricity, of which 1257 MW was being generated from water, while 983 MW from government thermal power plants and 8,070 MW of electricity was being generated from IPPs.
According to the report, the system restoration process started from Tarbela, Mangla and Warsak powerhouses but the system continued tripping due to high-frequency fluctuations. To stabilize the system, Tarbela and Mangla were interlinked to restore the system.
As per the report, the transmission process was restored till 7.40 pm on January 10 and NTDC was connected to the network electric on January 10 at 6.44 pm.

On the other hand, a resolution was submitted to the Punjab Assembly demanding the resignation of federal ministers. The resolution was submitted by PML-N member Sameera Komal.
The resolution stated that a commission should be set up to investigate the breakdown. The minister of power and water and relevant officers should be summoned in the commission of inquiry. The commission of inquiry should make the report public within a week.
The text of the resolution further said that Omar Ayub and Faisal Vawda should resign immediately till the investigation is completed.
