Babar Azam, captain of the national cricket team, has become the highest-scoring Pakistani in T20 cricket and crossed a milestone by scoring his 6th century.

Leading Central Punjab in the ongoing National T20 in Rawalpindi on Thursday, Babar Azam played an unbeaten innings of 105 off 63 balls, scoring the sixth century of his career. With this feat, he has also become the highest-scoring Pakistani in the T20 series.

Following Babar Azam’s spectacular performance are Ahmed Shehzad and Kamran Akmal who have scored five each, Khurram Manzoor scoring four, and both Mukhtar Ahmed and Sharjeel Khan scoring three centuries.

Babar Azam is the ninth batsman in the world to score 6 or more centuries, with Chris Gayle topping the list with 22 centuries.

The national team captain has come close to another world record after his 105-run innings and is expected to become the fastest batsman to score 7,000 T20 runs in the next innings.

He has scored 6984 runs in 185 innings. He needs 16 runs in 6 innings to break Chris Gayle’s record.

Babar Azam’s fifty-plus rate per innings is the best of all batsmen in the world, his career has 64 fifty-plus innings, including six centuries, his average is 2.89.
