Babar Azam moves up in Test player ranking

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released a new ranking of Test players.

England’s batsman JE Root was stripped of his top spot in the ICC Test Rankings, moving down to fourth place.

Australia’s Marence Labushin has taken the top position while Steve Smith is in second place.

In the ranking, Pakistan captain Babar Azam came to the third place after one level of promotion. Apart from this, Pakistani opener Abdullah Shafiq reached the 15th position after advancing 5 places in the ranking.

Shaheen Shah Afridi has moved down to the fifth position in the Test format bowlers ranking after dropping 2 spots.

England’s James Anderson has moved up 2 spots to the third position in the Test bowlers’ rankings.

In the ODI ranking, Babar Azam is still at the first place, while Shaheen Afridi remains at the fifth position among bowlers.
