Baaghi TV: Supreme Court rejects the bail plea of the accused in drug case.

Earlier, the accused had attempted to escape from the court premises but was caught by the police. Moazzam Baig had tried to escape from the lawyers’ gate but was foiled by Constable Gulzar Ahmed and was taken to Police Station Secretariat.

Moreover, the FBR has challenged Sindh High Court’s decision to withdraw the tax levied on mobile calls after 5 minutes at 75 paise in the Supreme Court. The FBR claims that the decision of Sindh High Court announced on October 18 should be declared null and void. The federal excise duty law allows 75 paise after five minutes but contrary to that the Finance Act 2021-22 levies a tax on this amount. As such, the High Court cannot declare a bill passed by Parliament as wrong.

Earlier, the consumer court had issued two arrest warrants for non-compliance after the issuance of the degree. Consumer court orders arrest of factory owner on January 14.

On the other hand, FIA Cyber Crime Circle Islamabad has taken action and arrested the group involved in illegal sale of SIMs. According to FIA officials, the accused were posing as officers of Ehsas program. It has also been revealed that 2,350 SIMs, 3 biometric and 40 ID cards were recovered from the suspects.
