DHAKA:Bangladesh won the first T20 match against Australia by 23 runs to take a 1-0 lead in the series.

Bangladesh batted first in the Dhaka encounter and produced 131 runs for the loss of seven wickets in the allowed overs, according to the details. Kangaroos responded by scoring 108 runs. Mitchell Marsh’s 45-run innings was unable to preserve Australia from defeat; opener Alex Carey was sent back to the pavilion without scoring a run, while Josh Philip scored nine runs.

Moises Henry Quess scored one run, Matthew Wade scored 13 runs, and Nasim Ahmed scored the winning run. Ashton Agar scored seven runs and was hit for two wickets. Nasim Ahmed led four men to the pavilion for Bangladesh, while Mustafizur Rehman and Shariful Islam each took two wickets.

Bangladesh had earlier set Australia a goal of 132 runs in their innings, owing to Mohammad Naeem’s 30 runs and Shakib Al Hasan’s 36 runs.

With 20 runs and 23 runs respectively, Mahmudullah and Atif Hussain stood out, while Australia’s Josh Hazelwood got three wickets and Mitchell Starc two.
