According to details Bangladesh beat Zimbabwe by 3 wickets with 2 balls to spare in the first match of the T20I tri series, also involving Afghanistan. Bangladesh recover from 60/6 as 19 year old Afif Hossain turned the match on its head in the last few overs. He scored 52 runs in 26 balls only. The toss had been delayed due to a wet outfield and the match was reduced to a 18 overs per side match following the delay.
Zimbabwe posted 144/5 while batting first. The Bangladesh chase got off to a terrible start. But eventually, Afif Hossain changed the momentum of the match in the favour of hosts.
