Barrister Gohar sheds light on PTI’s Islamabad ‘sit-in’

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan said that their September 8 event will be held within the bounds of the law, describing it as a public gathering and not a sit-in.

 

Talking to the media representatives after accessing arrangements of public gathering in the Islamabad Capital Territory, Barrister Gohar said that the purpose of holding the public gathering is seeking ‘independence’ of judiciary.

 

The PTI Chairman said that when their government comes into power, judicial independence would be given primary focus. Thus they are organising the gathering to maintain their agenda to demand independence for judiciary.

 

Barrister Gohar said that the crowd on Saturday shows the enthusiastic anticipation of is the main event on September 8. He added that, the public gathering would also be accompanied by allies, with representatives of Akhtar Mengal also participating.

 

“Today’s crowd is a prelude to the main event”, he said. Earlier, the Islamabad district administration changed the venue for PTI’s gathering on September 8.
