Karachi, 26th June: In light of outbreak of COVID-19, perhaps most badly affected businesses have been those that are service-based. Though acknowledging that hairdressing industry is a high risk business in light of Coronavirus outbreak, the government cannot turn a blind eye to the industry.

Beauty industry appeals to PM to let them commence their services despite fear of the spread of COVID-19, saying that they have been closed since 19th march. They would like an open dialogue to exist between government, with a timeline as to when they will be allowed to open. More attention must be given to this industry, also because taxation paid by such businesses adds up to large amount, taking into account those collected by Sindh Revenue Board and Federal Revenue Board.

Many of such businesses have already formulated stricter SOP’s than the sectors that are allowed to be operational at the moment.
