US President Joe Biden who is in Israel for a show of solidarity with Israel said he spoke with Prime Minister Netanyahu regarding the situation on the ground, security assistance and humanitarian needs, and information on unaccounted Americans.
“I asked tough questions as a friend of Israel. We will continue to deter any actor wanting to widen this conflict,” he said.
Representatives from the organization of families of those who were abducted and missing met with U.S. President Joe Biden and said that he promised that the U.S. would do everything in its power to return their relatives to Israel.
Attorney Dudi Zalmanovitz, one of the founders of the organization who was present at the meeting, said that Biden stated that one of the reasons for his visit to Israel was to meet the families in person. He added that they “asked the president to put pressure on the presidents of Qatar, Egypt and Turkey to create a humanitarian corridor” and to work to introduce life-saving medicines for their relatives in the Strip.

Three U.S. senators sent a letter to President Joe Biden urging him to reinforce the importance of protecting civilians and the need for immediate humanitarian aid into Gaza – including providing civilians with water, food, electricity, fuel, and medicine.
Sens. Peter Welch, Brian Schatz and Chris Van Hollen (all Democrats) earlier called for protections to be put in place for the 2 million people trapped in Gaza.
