Biden was sworn in by the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. According to sources, Joe Biden took an oath on the Bible and promised to abide by the national and religious values ​​in every situation. 

Newly elected Vice President of the United States Kamala Harris has also taken oath of office. The 55-year-old Democratic senator from California, who was running against Biden in the Democratic presidential primaries race, chose Kamala as his deputy after his election.

Kamala Harris is not only the first female vice president but also the first non-white person to become the Vice President of the United States, due to her parents’ connection to Jamaica and India. Kamala Harris’ mother was born in India while her father was born in Jamaica.

She is a former California attorney general and has been a staunch supporter of police reform during the anti-apartheid protests.
