New York, 4th August 2020: Billboards at the New York’s Times Square have been lightened up by messages of Kashmir liberation movement as the world marks a year of the siege of the valley.
According to reports of Baaghi TV, the New York Times Square today marks the one year of the Indian siege in the disputed valley of Kashmir.
As the valley enters its second year of lockdown, billboards at New York city’s iconic Times Square lit up in solidarity with the eight million residents being held captive in the Himalayan valley.
Curfew imposed in occupied Kashmir for the next two days
US ambassador Asad Khan shared footage of the scenes in the heart of New York on his Twitter account. “Scenes at Times Square as Kashmiris mark a full year of their imprisonment on August 5. That is one full year of forced disappearances, torture, and a siege that has been intensified on the pretext of Covid-19. #LetKashmirSpeak #OneYearSiege”, the caption of the post read.

Moeed Urges Nation to Join in Solidarity with Kashmiris on Youm-e-Istehsal
On 5th August 2019, the Modi Government launched demographic discrimination in IOK and divided the region into three parts. Indian atrocities against the Kashmiris have reached their heights. Kashmiris are facing immense pain and persecution under the continued military siege for the past one year.
Pakistan’s Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has said that Youm-e-Istehsal would be observed on August 5 this year in solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
