QUETTA: At least six people injured in a bomb blast in front of Askari Park on Quetta’s Airport Road on Thursday, police officials said.

According to Interior Minister Zia Langau, the blast took place near a security forces vehicle and it involved 3 to 4 kg of explosives planted in a motorcycle.

“Four to five kilograms of explosive material was used in the bomb. Five security officials were injured in the blast and were taken to Combined Military Hospital (CMH),” he told reporters.

“India is using Afghanistan’s land to conduct attacks in [Pakistan]. Peace in Balochistan will only come from peace in Afghanistan,” he added.

According to the spokesman of the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Balochistan, six people were injured in the explosion in Quetta, out of which two were in critical condition. The injured have been shifted to the nearest hospital.

A CTD spokesman said that the blast took place on Airport Road at 8.30 pm. The bomb was planted in a motorcycle. An investigation has been launched into the blast.

In February, five FC members were martyred and two others injured in two attacks in different areas of Balochistan.
