Boeing 777 near collision above Nawabshah

A Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Boeing 777-200 (AP-BGY) domestic flight PK301 between Islamabad and Karachi and an Emirates Airline Boeing 777-300ER (A6-EPS) flight EK516 between Dubai, UAE, and India lost separation as they flew above Nawabshah, Pakistan in January.
According to reports, the flights had lost separation on the 7th of January, 2019 as they crossed over Nawabshah, Pakistan. As per reports, both the aircraft had received a traffic collision avoidance system (TCAS) resolution advisory. The PIA Boeing 777 was advised to reduce its rate of descent while the Emirates Boeing 777 was advised to descend.

Moreover, the civil aviation authority of Pakistan had reported a “near collision” between the flights. In addition, they have suspended three air traffic controllers who were allegedly involved in the incident. An investigation pertaining to the case has been opened, confirm sources.
