Bombing of Afghan Air Force killed 45 people including Civilians
Baaghi TV reports that 45 people have been killed in air strikes by Afghan forces in Afghanistan’s Herat province, including a large number of civilians, according to Afghan media.
Eight civilians, including women and children, were killed and 25 others were injured in the attack by Afghan forces. The injured were taken to a hospital for medical treatment.
On the other hand, the governor’s office in Herat said that the Afghan air force targeted the Taliban, in which several Taliban leaders were killed.
The death toll from airstrikes by Afghan forces is expected to rise. The Afghan Interior Ministry says it is reviewing reports of civilian casualties as a result of the airstrikes and that the public will be informed of the results once an investigation is launched.
Violence and escalating tensions over the prisoner exchange between the Afghan government and the Taliban have delayed talks between the Taliban and an authorized team from Kabul that began in March.
Taliban spokesman Sohail Shaheen said on Twitter that the talks between Mullah Baradar and Pompeo included full implementation of the Doha agreement, withdrawal of foreign troops, release of prisoners, negotiations between Afghans and a ceasefire.
