BREAKING: Blast reported outside Kabul Airport

Lahore, 26th August: According to a spokesman for the US Department of Defense, there was an explosion at Kabul airport. The exact circumstances are still unclear, nothing is known about possible victims.

According to details, one of the entry gates to Kabul airport has been hit by a large explosion hours after western intelligence agencies warned of an imminent terrorist threat.

The blast, which was confirmed by the Pentagon press secretary, John Kirby, on Twitter appears to have occurred at the Abbey Gate into the international airport and was followed by gunfire.

Meanwhile, the US officials had issued an alert earlier on Thursday about a possible terror attack at Kabul airport.
