The incident took place in India. A 51-year-old assistant sub-inspector of police in Delhi was killed when a speeding car hit a wall near the US embassy.

The slain policeman was identified as Lal Man Singh Susodia. Police said that the car was being driven by Assistant Professor Siddharth Bhagat at Rajasthan University. Police have arrested the driver of the car.

Additional Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Deepak Yadav said policeman Sisodia, who was on duty near a gate of the US embassy, ​​was killed in the accident. A case of the incident has been registered at Chankiapuri police station.

Police say further investigations are underway into whether the professor was under the influence of alcohol.
