Breaking News! A severe earthquake shook Turkey

Istanbul, 30th October: Large buildings collapsed after a severe earthquake took place in Turkey.

Baaghi TV: According to reports, a very strong earthquake has hit the coast of Turkey in which there is a fear of massive loss of life and property.

According to Turkish sources, the quake hit the Aegean coast of Turkey, north of the Greek island of Samos.

The US Geological Survey (USGS) said a magnitude 7.0 earthquake shook the region near the coast of Turkey’s Izmir province, with strong aftershocks felt in Istanbul and Athens in Greece.

The epicentre was reported below the ground, however; no tsunami alert was issued.

Both Turkey and Greece are situated on fault lines and earthquakes are common here.

The video on social media shows people searching for the rubble of collapsed buildings. Eyewitnesses said people in the city took to the streets when the quake was felt.
