Brussels: Kashmir Council Europe stage sit-in against Indian atrocities in IIOJK

Nov 20, 2021: A sit-in was called in the Belgian capital against Indian atrocities in IIOJK, especially the recent cold-blooded killing of two civilians in occupied Kashmir.

The protest was organized by the Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) in front of the headquarters of European institutions, including the European Union’s External Action Service and the European Commission.

Protesters held pictures of relatives of the victims who had been extra-judicially killed by Indian occupying forces. Protesters also carried placards with slogans in favor of the Kashmiri people and against Indian atrocities in the occupied territories.

On the occasion, Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed said that they strongly condemn the human rights violations in the occupied territories of India, including the killing of civilians. A doctor and a businessman were killed in a recent cold-blooded murder in the Haiderpura area of Srinagar, IIOJK – a brutal example of Indian state terrorism, the KC-EU chairman said.

Syed said the continued killing of civilians was a reprehensible act and KC-EU would continue to raise its voice in European institutions against human rights violations in occupied Kashmir.

Syed urged the international community not to remain silent on the genocide of innocent people in the occupied territories. The KC-EU Chair urged the international community, especially the European Union and the United Nations, to move forward and stop human rights violations in Occupied Kashmir and play its role for a just solution to the Kashmir issue.

Meanwhile, in response to a question during a press briefing, EU spokeswoman Nabila Misrali said that human rights violations would be investigated wherever possible.
