31st August: First time in the history of MTV awards an Asian pop group won the award for the category of the Best Pop. According to reports, BTS’s nomination for Best Pop marked the first time in history that any Asian group ever got nominated in one of the MTV Video Music Award’s main categories. The famous South Korean septet won the award for their February release “ON,” an anthem of self-empowerment and hope, from their fourth studio album ‘Map of the Soul: 7.’ BTS song Dynamite sets a YouTube record The group which comprises RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, were also nominated for VMAs for Best Pop, Best K-pop, Best Group, and Best Choreography this year and they managed to win all four awards.
