Bulgarian climber loses life after being recovered

Lahore, 5th February: The Bulgarian mountaineer after an attempt to climb K2, the world’s second-largest mountain got killed on Friday.

Baaghi TV: According to the latest reports, after the Pakistan Army carried out a rescue operation, the Bulgarian mountaineer who was on his way back to the base camp, died in an accident.

Bulgarian mountain climber, Atanas Georgiev Skatov was reported to have fallen into a ditch in the morning on Friday, after which a search was underway, but his death has now been confirmed.

According to sources, the body of the mountaineer was airlifted to Skardu by a Pakistan Army helicopter. Atanas fell into a deep icy ditch due to a broken rope on his way from Camp-3 to Base-20.

Earlier, Baaghi TV reported that the foreign climber went missing today and was presumed dead, but a search by the Pakistan Army helicopter led to finding his injured body.

A Bulgarian news agency reported that the demise of Skatov, the 42-year-old Bulgarian made an attempt to conquer the world’s second-highest peak, but remained unsuccessful.

The news agency reported, “For him, this was expedition No21 in the last eight years in a total of fourteenth attempts to conquer the eight-thousander.”

Baaghi TV also reported today that a team of Pakistani climber Muhammad Ali Sadpara along with his son Sajjid has accelerated the expedition to ascent the second highest mountain of the world, K2 without oxygen.
