The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) of Pakistan has cancelled the Airline Transport Pilot License (ATPL) of a Pakistan International Airline (PIA) pilot for breaching the conditions of Air Navigation Order (ANO-90, 0011).

According to the details of Baaghi TV, a PIA pilot has been confronted with alleged use of unfair means to pass all eight one ATPL theoretical knowledge examinations. Moreover, the pilot has been knowingly exercised the privilege to as as a pilot risking the life and property of passengers and public at large, according to the CAA notification.

According to reports, the pilot was served with a ‘Show Cause Notice’ on October 16, 2019 for using unfair means to clear his ATPL examinations. However, the pilot in his reply, on October 18, 2019 confessed to the accusations and accepted the charges against him.

On March 3, 2020, the pilot was again given a right of personal hearing, however, the pilot denied and supported the statement made in his written confession earlier and named Mr Jameel from Askari Aviation as a facilitator to this criminal activity. He also revealed that a considerable amount of money was paid in return of this facility.
