The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has suspended 34 pilots licenses’ of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) for allegedly holding fake degrees.

According to the details, yesterday Baaghi TV gave a list of PIA pilots possessing fake licences which were confirmed by CAA. Later, the regulatory authority issued a suspension order to the pilots that were possessing fake pilot licenses.

‘It is alleged that you have intentionally committed an offence under Rule 355 (2) of Civil Aviation Authority Rules 1994 (CARs 1994) while obtaining the Pilot License,’ the letter said.

Moreover the letter stated that the pilots have contravened the provisions of Civil Aviation Ordinance 1960, Civil Aviation Ordinance 1982 and the rules made thereafter.

The pilots have been given the right to appeal against the suspension order within 14 days of its issuance. However, if there is no response from the accused, it will be assumed that they don’t intend to appeal against suspension.
