CAA takes a drastic step for international flights
Lahore, 5th May: The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has taken a tough step regarding international flights during the ongoing pandemic wave. The Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) has banned 80 percent of international flights due to the growing number of coronavirus cases in Pakistan. The aviation authority said that 80% of international flights will remain closed, hence, the international flight operation is limited to only 20% from today. It is to be noted that the ban on flights will remain in force till May 20. Following the directives of NCOC, Civil Aviation has also restricted inbound international flights. The number of weekly flights to Pakistan has been reduced from 590 to 123. According to the notification issued, the number of international flights coming to Karachi in a week has been reduced from 189 to 40, Islamabad Airport to 120 to 25 and Peshawar Airport to 6 from 33. Similarly, flights to Quetta have been reduced to only 2 flights. While the number of inbound flights at Faisalabad has been reduced from 24 to 5, Sialkot from 43 to 8 and Multan Airport from 41 to 8.
