CAAM seeks clarification regarding Pakistani pilots

Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) has expressed concerns over the issue of Pakistani pilots carrying fake licenses and demanded a license check from Pakistan.

In this regard, the Deputy-Director of Malaysian CAA has forwarded a notification to his Pakistani counterpart seeking clarification on the matter. According to the notification, details of Pakistani pilots and flight operations officers should be verified in the case of suspected licensed pilots.

According to the notification, CAA Malaysia would require verification of information including: full name, passport no., Pakistan Pilot Licence no., CAAM Validation no., Malaysia Licence Conversion – PPL/CPL/ATPL no., respectively.

Moreover, the Pakistani authorities are required to submit the information to CAAM latest by the 3rd of July, 2020.

According to the notification, in case of failure to provide verification within the given time, CAAM will revoke the licences of the pilots in question.
