Candidate for Prime Minister: Shahbaz Sharif or Maryam Nawaz?
Baaghi TV: PML-N leader and former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that Maryam Nawaz is not a candidate for the post of Prime Minister.
In an interview, former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that Shahbaz Sharif is the Leader of Opposition in the National Assembly as well as the President of PML-N. Therefore, he will be our candidate for the post of Prime Minister whenever elections are held. He said that Maryam Nawaz is not eligible for elections against this post.
Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said that it usually happens that whoever is the president of the party becomes nominated as a candidate for the prime minister, Shahbaz Sharif is the party president and he will be our candidate.
On the other hand, the Leader of the Opposition in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz has also sought relief. Hamza Shahbaz has filed a petition in the Lahore High Court seeking relief from the court under the new NAB ordinance.
In this regard, the statement issued by PML-N said that Hamza Shahbaz did not file a plea of acquittal under NAB Amendment Ordinance, Hamza Shahbaz filed the petition under section 265 of Code of Criminal Procedure 1898.
Hamza Shahbaz has filed acquittal in false reference of Ramzan Sugar Mills. Hamza Shahbaz has exercised his right under the law against political revenge. No matter, the grounds for acquittal are the same as they have stated before.
