Case of killing lion and lioness in Islamabad has been registered under the Animal Act

A case has been registered under the Animal Act at the request of a citizen against the killing of a lion and lioness at the Marghzar Zoo in Islamabad.
The case of death of a lion and lioness of Marghzar Zoo has been registered in Kohsar police station.
The petition filed by the citizen said that three persons tortured the lion and lioness to death by setting them on fire, as a result of which Pakistan lost rare animals, legal action should be taken against all the three.
On the other hand, the World Environment Organization (WWF) has expressed grave concern over the death of animals at the Marghzar Zoo.
According to sources, the WWF has resigned from its membership in the Islamabad Wildlife Management, while the WWF has also demanded strict action against those who abuse animals.
