CCPO holds meeting of Special Vigilance Teams

Lahore:  A meeting of Special Vigilance Teams which performed duties during recent PSL Seven, was held under the chairmanship of CCPO Lahore Additional IG Fayyaz Ahmed Dev at Capital City Police Headquarters today. SSP Admin Atif Nazir, SSP Discipline Ijaz Rashid, SSP Legal Ghulam Hussain Chauhan, DSP Intelligence Rehan Jamal, DSP Admin Khalid Saeed, officers in charges and members of the vigilance teams attended the meeting.

CCPO Fayyaz Ahmed Dev commended the vigilance teams for their excellent performance during the PSL and announced certificates of appreciation and cash awards for them. The CCPO Lahore directed the concerned DIGs to award Commendation Certificates (CC-ll) and cash awards to the PSL vigilance teams accordingly. Addressing the meeting participants, Fayyaz Ahmed Dev said, the Vigilance teams have a key role to play in the peaceful and safe conduct of the most sensitive events as only effective surveillance and monitoring can ensure the security and success of these programs.
CCPO Lahore directed the members of the vigilance teams to carry out their duties with the same diligence and dedication in the future as well. SSP Admin Atif Nazir said that the Vigilance team continued their routine office work as well along with surveillance duties.

Meanwhile, the colorful celebrations of (Jashan e Baharan) Spring Festival in the provincial capital have been continue on with traditional fervor. CCPO Lahore Additional IG Fayyaz Ahmed Dev has said that Lahore Police is providing full security to all touristic, cultural and sports activities related to the celebrations. More than 2,500 police officers and youths have been performing security duties at the programs of Spring Festival including National Horse and Cattle Show, Art & Craft Exhibition, food gala and related events. Fayyaz Ahmad Dev said that the protection of the citizens, especially women and children, participating in the ongoing Spring Festival in Jilani Park is a top priority of Lahore Police. Anti-riot force and plainclothes police personnel have also been deployed in the parks for the safety of the participants, and to prevent anti peace elements and ensure law and order. More than 1,500 police officers and youths would perform security duties on the occasion of National Horse and Cattle Show, he added. Police officers and personnel deployed at the programs should be on high alert and keep a close watch on the suspects, vehicles and equipment, Fayyaz Ahmad Dev directed. Citizens visiting Jilani Park Gala and other recreational places should be allowed entry only after thorough checking. Dolphin Squad, Police Response Unit and Elite Force teams should conduct effective patrolling around parks, highways and recreational places. CCPO Lahore directed that hooliganism and abuse of families and women would not be tolerated in the Spring Festival.
