CCPO opens newly constructed building of police station factory area

Lahore: In a bid to provide improved working conditions to the police employees for better service delivery and pleasant atmosphere to the citizens, state of the art newly built four storey building of Police station Factory Area was inaugurated by the Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Fayyaz Ahmad Dev on Friday.

Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operations Wing) Ahsan Younas, SSP Operations Capt(R) Mustansar Feroze, SSP (Admin) Mubasher Maken, SP Cantt Essa Sukhaira and other senior police officers and staff of PS accompanied the Additional IG Faytaz Ahmad Dev while inaugurating the building. He inspected different sections of the building and lauded the quality of construction work as well as facilities provided to the PS Factory Area. He hoped that the infrastructure would be looked after properly by the administration. Addressing the participants of the inaugural ceremony, the CCPO Lahore Fayyaz Ahmad Dev said, new building infrastructures have been provided to Lahore’s filed force with estate of the art facilities with a view to improve the working conditions of police stations and benefit citizens. Additional IG Fayyaz Dev said Factory Area Police Station is a beautiful addition in the existing modern police buildings of the city. The CCPO said police stations are the basic units of policing and foremost source of justice to the suffering community. A police station should be a symbol of peace and shelter for the citizens where they could get timely justice and response with respect and dignity. He further said, uniformed and standardized improvements would be made gradually in all the police stations of the city. The CCPO said, the staff of police station Factory Area, now have been provided with a more favourable and conducive environment, should further improve their performance and serve humanity more diligently. Police personnel improve image of department with their good conduct, character and behavior with citizens. Orderly Room would be conducted on regular basis and unnecessary punishments would be discouraged by him, Fayyaz Ahmad Dev pledged. Priorities have been changed with the passage of time with a focus on strengthening police stations for being basic unit of the police. It would also help change the ‘thana culture’ which has been the utmost priority of the police higher command, Fayyaz Ahmad Dev added. The construction work of other police stations including PS Gawalmandi, Qila Gujjar Singh, Chung, Gulshan Ravi and PS Faisal Town is also at final stages and would soon be functional as well. Fayyaz Ahmad Dev highlighted the important role of citizens centric policing in crime control and maintenance of law and order in the city. “Anywhere in the world, Police cannot get any success in crime control without cooperation and support of public,” he urged. He said all available resources of the department are being utilised for the welfare of low grade officials at police stations level. “Any given targets cannot be achieved without providing better working conditions to the Police officers and officials,” he said. The building of PS Factory Area is comprised of state of the art four stories, covering total area of 04 kanal with more than 42 capacious rooms, front desk, community guide room, three separate lockups for male and females accused persons, six residential barracks for PS staff,kitchen,Mess and a Gymnasium. The building has been completed with the total cost of100.30 million rupees with cooperation of Communication and Works department and it also has a water tank with capacity of 25 thousands gallons of water, a tube well as well as 100 kv transformer. Fayyaz Ahmad Dev lauded the efforts of IG Punjab Police Rao Sardar Ahmad Khan and support of the Punjab government for taking keen interest in completion of this splendid multi storey and multipurpose building.
