Chairman of Afghanistan’s High Council arrives on three-day visit

ISLAMABAD (28th Sept, 2020): The Chairman of Afghanistan’s High Council for National Reconciliation, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah, has reportedly arrived in Islamabad on a three-day visit.

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah and his delegation were received by Abdul Razzaq Dawood, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Trade, Muhammad Sadiq, Special Representative for Afghanistan, Mansoor Ahmad Khan, Ambassador of Pakistan to Afghanistan, and Asif Memon, Director General, Afghanistan Division, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, respectively.

This is Dr. Abdullah Abdullah’s first visit to Pakistan as Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation. According to reports of Baaghi TV, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah is visiting Pakistan from September 28th to 30th, 2020.

Prominent members of the High Council for National Reconciliation are also part of the upcoming high-level delegation, accompanied by Dr. Abdullah Abdullah. During the visit, Dr. Abdullah Abdullah will meet the Prime Minister and the President of Pakistan.

The Chairman of the Senate, the Speaker of the National Assembly and other dignitaries will also meet Dr. Abdullah Abdullah.

Dr. Abdullah Abdullah will deliver the keynote address at the Institute of Strategic Studies, Islamabad.

The visit will provide an opportunity to review the Afghan peace process and discuss a wide range of issues. Dr. Abdullah Abdullah’s visit will strengthen people-to-people contacts in Pakistan and Afghanistan, in addition to bilateral relations between the neighboring states.
