Lahore, 8th June: PML-N MPA Hameeda Waheed-ud-din has raised an objection to the decision taken by the Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi.

PML-N member Punjab Assembly Hameeda Waheed-ud-din has raised an objection to the meeting of the Punjab Assembly to be held at a local hotel.

According to the reports the Punjab Assembly meeting was scheduled to be held at Lahore’s Falettis Hotel and declared as Chamber for the purpose of holding the current sessions of the Provincial Assembly Punjab.

Former provincial minister Hameeda Waheed-ud-din has written a letter to Speaker Chaudhry Pervez Elahi regarding the change of the venue from Lahore’s Falettis Hotel to public venues (Government buildings).

The PML-N member proposed to convene the Punjab Assembly in a government building rather than in a private hotel as it was difficult for the members of the Provincial Assembly to maintain physical distancing in the existing Assembly Chamber last time.

Hameeda Wahiduddin has suggested to convene the Punjab Assembly meeting in the Aiwan-e-Iqbal where the meeting can be easily convened keeping in view the social distancing required during the pandemic times.
