Chief Election Commissioner visits NADRA Headquarters

Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja visits National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) Headquarters and gives detailed briefing on registration of women and minorities.

Baaghi TV: According to the details, the Chief Election Commissioner visited various stages of preparation of voter lists and various facilities of NADRA. Members of Election Commission of Balochistan and Sindh, Secretary Election Commission, Director General of Income-tax (DGIT) also participated in the visit.

Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik gave a detailed briefing to Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja on the preparation of transparent and error free voter lists, registration of women and minorities on the basis of “One Person, One Identity and One Vote” in collaboration with every Election Commission.

In the briefing, the Chairman NADRA informed about the significant success in achieving the targets of women registration.

He said:

“Since 2017, the gender gap in registration has been reduced from 19% to 10%. In the last 100 days, development and technical resources have been fully utilized to increase the registration of women. There has been a 40% increase in women’s registration.”

While giving a briefing, the Chairman NADRA further said that all the obstacles in the registration of women are being removed and keeping in view the social values, establishment of centers with female staff, setting of special day for women and online facilities. Are also provided.

Apart from this, the Chairman NADRA also gave a briefing on the registration of minority communities and said that minorities are also the identity of Pakistan and their registration is also being facilitated.

On this occasion, the Chief Election Commissioner reviewed the various stages of preparation of voter lists and also visited various facilities of NADRA. On the occasion, Chief Election Commissioner Sikandar Sultan Raja appreciated the performance of NADRA in the preparation of transparent voter lists and the steps taken for the registration of women.

He stated:

“Wherever NADRA needs the assistance of Election Commission in this regard, we will fully support it.”
