China Donates 40M Yuan in Humanitarian Aid to Afghan Ministry of Refugees

The Chinese Embassy in Kabul handed over 40% of its 100-million-yuan aid to the Ministry of Refugees and Repatriation.

According to officials from this ministry, the aid is allocated to address the challenges of internally displaced persons and returned migrants.

The acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriation said that China’s aid has been categorized based on the severe needs of this ministry and includes ambulances, cargo vehicles, water tankers, tents, and other assistance.

Khalil Rahman Haqqani, the acting Minister of Refugees and Repatriation, said: “I appreciate the aid from China and call on other international aid organizations and neighboring and global countries to cooperate with us in this area.”

Meanwhile, the Chinese Ambassador to Kabul, referring to the interest of the Chinese government and people, emphasized the continuation of humanitarian aid and the development of cooperation between Afghanistan and China, stating that the first promised aid shipment to address the challenges of internally displaced persons and returned migrants has been delivered to Kabul.

Zhao Xing, the Chinese ambassador to Kabul, said: “The Chinese government, in order to help returned migrants, has decided to provide humanitarian aid worth 100 million yuan to Afghanistan. The first aid shipment worth 40 million yuan has arrived in Kabul and has been handed over to the Ministry of Refugees.”
Since the Islamic Emirate’s return to power in Afghanistan, China has had extensive political and economic engagement with the caretaker government and has also invested in various sectors of the country’s mining industry.
