Washington: A spokesman for the Chinese embassy blamed the US government for the threats.

He said in his Twitter message that after the closure of the Chinese embassy and hate speech by the US government, threats are now being made.

He added that Chinese diplomats were fostering brotherhood but were now being threatened. It is believed that the US President has ordered Beijing to close its consulate in Houston.

According to the national news agency, Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenben said in a statement that President Trump has ordered Chinese authorities to close their consulate in Houston, which is a highly reprehensible move. He said that if the United States does not reject its decision then we will fight hard against it.

“The unilateral closure of the Chinese consulate in Houston in the short term is a dramatic increase in its recent actions against China. The United States has previously imposed a number of trade sanctions on China, to which we have responded,” he said.

China has said it will fully respond to new trade sanctions imposed by the United States, following the US government’s announcement this week of sanctions against 11 Chinese companies in the wake of alleged atrocities against Uighur Muslims in Xinjiang. Dismissing the allegations as baseless, he said the United States only wanted to target Chinese companies.
