ISLAMABAD, July 16 (Online Int’l): Islamabad High Court (IHC) has imposed fines amounting to Rs 2 million each on the interior secretary, IG Police Islamabad, SHO Lohi Bhair and SP Investigation on their poor investigation and failure to recover a kidnapped citizen of Islamabad. The court also ordered departmental action against the IG, SHO, and SP Investigation.
The case came up for hearing before Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kiayani of IHC Thursday. One Suleman Farooqui, resident of Islamabad, was allegedly kidnapped and his father resorted to the IHC.
During the hearing of the case SHO Lohi Bhir appeared before the court.
The court while expressing its disapproval, remarked that women are visible to the police through safe city cameras but not citizens who are being kidnapped. WhatsApp is full of pictures of women taken from safe city cameras.
The court ordered that the kidnapped citizen Suleman Farooqui be presented before it on next hearing of the case at every cost.
