Civil Aviation Authority vehicles used illegally?

December 4, 2020: Valuable vehicles of the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) have been found to be used illegally by the Aviation Division of Pakistan.

According to the details, more than nine CAA vehicles are being used by Aviation Division officers. CAA Headquarters and Director Engineering has requested details of vehicles.

Furthermore, the vehicle of Director General (DG) CAA is also being used by the Federal Minister of Aviation. Fuel worth millions of rupees is being used monthly on CAA vehicles. According to the rules, the Aviation Division can only use the vehicles of its department or ministry. The white Land Cruiser Prado, vehicle number GA-034 allotted to DG CAA is being used by the Ministry of Aviation.

The Secretary Aviation Division also owns two vehicles of the Civil Aviation Authority, vehicle numbers GAB 146 and GAB 145. According to the monetization policy, funds are also allocated for officers of Grade 20 or above instead of vehicles.

Secretary Aviation’s Personal Assistant (PA) also owns the civil aviation car, vehicle number RIC 733. Aviation Minister PSO Badar also owns the civil aviation vehicle ACZ903. The DG CAA PSO, who also has an additional charge of Director Commercial uses two vehicles, numbers AJH 52 and ADD 902.
