President of Pakistan Bridge Federation (PBF) and Vice President of the Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle East (BFAME), Mubasher Lucman welcomed the Chief Minister Punjab upon his arrival in the hall. Bahjat Ali Majali, President of the BFAME was also present on this occasion.

Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi distributed medals and prizes among the players of the participating teams. According to the categories, gold and silver medals were distributed among open, seniors, mixed, and women players. Later, Pakistan Bridge Federation President Mubasher Lucman also distributed medals among the players. Meanwhile, the Secretary-General of the PBF and BFAME, Ehsan Qadir performed the duties of the Secretary-General in the closing ceremony.
On the occasion, national anthems of India, UAE, and Pakistan were also played in the ceremony. The teams of these three countries have been selected for the World Bridge Championship scheduled to be played in Morocco this year in August.
Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab Mohsin Naqvi while addressing the ceremony said: “I am happy to see foreign players in Pakistan, especially in Lahore. I was happy when Mubasher Lucman told me about it. A lot of hard work has been done for this tournament, all the teams deserve praise”.
Talking about Bridge, Mubasher Lucman said “Our government is ready to provide all kinds of help with reference to the sport [Bridge]. Punjab government will also cooperate in Multan Championships”.

The Caretaker Chief Minister of Punjab while addressing the players said, “I wish that all the players come back to Pakistan”.
As host of the Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle East (BFAME) Championship and President of Pakistan Bridge Federation (PBF), Mubasher Lucman, while addressing the closing ceremony, said: “The players of the world came and played in Pakistan, I am grateful to everyone for coming.”
Thanking the Chief Guest, Lucman said: “Caretaker Chief Minister Punjab left a very important meeting, we are grateful to him. The Indian team played well and won, the UAE team also won the match, and the Pakistan seniors team also won the match, all the players are like my family. Pakistan is going to the World Championship, and we will win, God willing”.
He added: “As the Saraiki Championship starts in Multan next month, I am grateful to all the athletes and all the governments of the countries that sent teams”. He concluded his address by congratulating all the teams.
Likewise, Bahjat Ali Majali, President of the Bridge Federation of Asia and Middle East (BFAME), in his speech said: “Thankful to Pakistan, BFAME has been completed. Grateful to the Pakistan Bridge Federation President Mubasher Lucman and Secretary General Ehsan Qadir, whose efforts led to the successful completion of the championship today. All the teams were full of surprises and played well in the championship. Thanks to the teams of India, Bangladesh, Palestine, UAE, Jordan, and Pakistan”.
President BFAME added: “The teams of this zone have been selected to play in the World Championship. The next BFAME will be held in Dubai in 2025”.

It is pertinent to note that the BFAME Championships started in Lahore on May 5th, and continued till May 13th. Meanwhile, the players of India and other countries were seen thanking Pakistan Bridge Federation President Mubasher Lucman for the excellent arrangements. The visiting players were given a visit to the local historical attraction Shahi Qila, in Lahore, where the guest players enjoyed Lahori food as well as Lahori dance and culture.
Talking to Baaghi TV during the closing ceremony, Ranjan Bhattacharya said: “Coming to Pakistan, it felt like we had come home. We won the match, now we will play the World Championship. Such sports competitions between the two countries India and Pakistan should continue. I wish to come to Pakistan again and play, and the Pakistani team should also come to India”.
It is pertinent to note that after winning the first round of the finals match, team India went on to secure another win and lead the BFAME Championships for the region. In the second round of the finals match, the Indian team managed to score 80.5 IMPs and 59.5 IMPs against UAE.
